Richard is a highly successful racehorse selector and racing manager who is responsible for the selection of Group 1 winners Waikuku, The Wow Signal and Garswood.

Purchasing racehorses is just one of the services that Richard offers. Other key areas of the business include racehorse and bloodstock management where Richard engulfs himself into all aspects of an owners horses and breeding stock, handling everything from liaising with trainers, advising on race plans through to checking invoices. This is a Global service and Richard has experience of managing horses-in-training and broodmares in Europe, the Middle East and Australia.

Mating plans and nomination booking are another key area where Richard advises clients on the best matings for their mares and secures the rights to the stallions at the best possible price. Having spent 12 years working for World leading bloodstock organisations Coolmore, Darley and Juddmonte, Richard has vast experience of the stallion and nomination market.

2022 Hong Kong Group 1 winner Waikuku

3-time Group 1 winner Waikuku was a €33,000 yearling selection on behalf of legendary Irish trainer John Oxx who won with him on his second start before selling to race on in Hong Kong.

During his time in Hong Kong, Waikuku has won a further 8 races (including 3 x Group 1 and 1 x Group 2) and has amassed prize money in excess of £4,000,000 to date.

Champion French 2-year-old The Wow Signal

The Wow Signal was selected for purchase by Richard as a horse-in-training on behalf of Al Shaqab Racing after he had won his maiden at Ayr racecourse in May of his 2-year-old career.

On his next start he lined up in the Coventry Stakes Gr.2 at Royal Ascot under the guidance of jockey Frankie Dettori and proceeded to win by 1 ¾ lengths in a time just 0.53 seconds outside of the course record. The Wow Signal progressed again on his next start when he won the Prix Morny Gr.1, France’s Premier 2-year-old race and he was later crowned French Champion 2-year-old. He retired to stand as a stallion at Al Shaqab’s Haras du Bouquetot.

Champion French Sprinter Garswood

Garswood was selected for purchase by Richard as a foal for just 19,000gns and his finest hour came when winning the Prix Maurice de Gheest Gr.1 – he was later named French Champion Sprinter.

Previously Garswood had won the Lennox Stakes Gr.2, and been placed in the Prix de la Foret Group 1. He retired to stand as a stallion at Cheveley Park Stud.
