Yearling purchase Selected got a nice return on investment when winning the 2-year-old maiden at Ripon on Friday as he won a £25,000 bonus on top of the prize money because he was purchased from the Tattersalls Book 1 sale. The son of Mehmas cost £70,000 on behalf of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Malek Al-Sabah and won by 2 1/4 lengths under jockey David Nolan for trainer Richard Fahey.
