Day 1 of the Goffs February Sale saw over 250 yearlings catalogued for sale and Richard Knight was delighted to secure 2 colts and 2 fillies on behalf of clients.
The 1st purchase was Lot 15 a filly by Darley sire Epaulette who has his first yearlings in 2015. The filly is a half-sister to Giuly Forever who was placed 4th at Listed level in Italy and is out of the winning 2yo by Noverre, El Soprano. This filly cost €18,000.
The 2nd purchase was Lot 144 a colt by Dutch Art who cost €38,000. The colt is the first foal out of the Danehill Dancer mare Sharp Crisp Air who is herself a half-sister to Group 1 winner Relaxed Gesture. Richard expected this colt to make considerably more so was delighted to secure him at the level he did especially having vetted cleanly. The last Dutch Art colt Richard purchased to trade was the future Group 1 winner and now sire, Garswood.
The 3rd purchase was Lot 200 a Zoffany filly out of the Kingmambo mare Alzaroof. Zoffany looks to be a very exciting sire and this filly’s Grandam is the Park Hill Stakes Group 3 winner Ranin – she cost €25,000 in a private sale.
The 4th and final purchase was Lot 223 a colt by proven sire Camacho. He is a big, strong colt and very athletic and his Grandam was the multiple black-type winner Moon Unit. He cost €57,000 and was one of the picks of the sale.
