Arqana breeze-up purchase Big Kitten wins novice race by 5 lengths
Big Kitten who I purchased from Arqana breeze-up sale in May 2017 won in decisive fashion on his seasonal debut at Newcastle yesterday. The son of Kitten’s Joy had been placed 2nd in all his 3 starts at 2 years and won by 5 lengths here with recent course and distance winner Lumi in 2nd. Big Kitten’s form was in the book having run behind Kentucky Derby hopeful Gronkowski on his last start at 2 years. The Winter break had given the impression that Big Kitten had improved and although not being fully tested here he showed a good attitude and turn of foot and looks an exciting prospect for the season ahead.
