Class 3 win for Ballard Down despite giving rivals 6 length head start

Posted on 5 June 2019

Ballard Down who I purchased for €30,000 as a yearling won a class 3 handicap at Windsor on Monday despite giving his rivals a 6-length head start. The son of Canford Cliffs fluffed his lines at the start but showed his customary turn of foot to fly in the final furlong and win by a nose. Rated 102 in early 2018 and having won his last two (today off 88) it might be that he has a bit in hand again and can win again.

Congratulations to all connections.
