Ballard Down who I purchased for €30,000 from the Goffs Sportsman yearling sale showed what an exciting horse he is when easily winning the class 3 handicap at Wolverhampton on Wednesday 3rd May. The gelded son of Canford Cliffs was running over 1 mile and ran out a very convincing 3 3/4 length winner on just his second start of this season. One more win would see Ballard Down being a likely runner in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot in June.
Congratulations to his owners Angmering Park Thoroughbreds and to his trainer William Knight.
