Irish Optimism who I purchased as a yearling for €47,000 from the Goffs Orby sale won his 3rd race of 2016 with victory at Chelmsford City tonight. The son of Approve was making his first start on the all-weather and although shuffled back through the pack managed to find room up the rail and win in decisive style under jockey Jason Hart over the 1m distance.
Irish Optimism now heads to the Tattersalls Horses-in-training sale where he will likely attract plenty of interest from potential purchasers with his attractive, progressive profile.
Congratulations to his owner Ross Harmon and trainers John & Sean Quinn.
