European Autumn Mare Sales – Choosing the right mare
With the yearlings & horses-in-training sales mostly behind us, attention will turn to the foal sales and then the mare sales. Choosing the right mare is So important – whereas with a yearling or a horse-in-training you might keep it for 2 or 3 years, the likelihood with a mare is that you will keep her for longer. Choose the right mare, mate her correctly and she might be with you for 10 years plus and the family could be with you and your family for generations.
The main European mare sale is held at Tattersalls in December (4th-7th) and here you can find fillies in & out of training and in-foal mares and with over 1000 on offer there is plenty of choice. There are also sales in Goffs (Nov 23-24) and in Arqana (9-12 Dec) so if you are in the market for new mare or your first mare then please make contact.
