The European breeze-up sales season kicks off next week with the Ascot sale and is closely followed by sales in Newmarket and Doncaster. Following those is another trip to Newmarket followed by Deauville in France and finishes with the Goresbridge sale which this year will be held at Fairyhouse racecourse and sales complex for the first time.
The breeze-up sales are for unraced 2-year-old’s and the horses are seen galloping for 2 furlongs on the racecourse before inspection and then selling by public auction. Past purchases of mine have included the 2018 Listed winning sprinter El Astronaute who I purchased for £36,000. El Astronaute has won no less than 10 races at racecourses including Glorious Goodwood, York, Newmarket, Epsom and Chester and earnt prize-money of over £245,000.
