Mustaqqil who was purchased by Richard Knight for 42,000gns as a foal and re-sold for 110,000gns as a yearling to Angus Gold of Shadwell won his 3-year-old maiden at Kempton on his 2nd start yesterday. The son of Invincible Spirit was prominent throughout the race but ran green and showed a good attitude to fight back once headed and win by a head over the 1 mile distance.
Jockey Paul Hanagan reported that Mustaqqil gave him a good feel and that there should be plenty more improvement to come.
