The European yearling sales season started on Saturday 18th August in Deauville, France and I was delighted to purchase a very exciting prospect. The purchase in question was a Galileo colt out of the Group 1 winner Giofra. Giofra (by Dansili) was rated 117 and was winner of the Falmouth Stakes Gr.1 which is run over 1 mile at Newmarket. The colt cost €320,000 and will be trained by William Haggas in Newmarket, UK.
