Lady Macapa is the type of racehorse every owner dreams about. At the yearling sales she was led out unsold having failed to shine but both myself and brother William Knight had seen her at her breeders earlier in the year and liked her so quickly snapped her up at bargain basement level. And what a move it was as she won a Newmarket maiden on just her 2nd start at 2 years and then ran 3rd in the Bosra Sham fillies Stakes, L.R. also at 2 years.
Lady Macapa (by Equiano) won twice more for William Knight and was then sold in the 2016 Tattersalls mare sale where she realised 88,000gns and was sent to Clive Cox. Saturday 22nd July saw Lady Macapa achieve her best result to date when running 3rd in the Hackwood Stakes, Gr.3 over 6f beaten just 3 lengths by Magical Memory.
Congratulations to her owners Michael Johnson & John Law and to her trainer Clive Cox.
