If you are interested in becoming a racehorse owner or breeder then the first sales of the year are fast approaching with the Tattersalls & Goffs February sale.
The Tattersalls sale is held in Newmarket on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd of February and the catalogue consists of Mares, yearlings, two-year-olds and horses in and out of training. There are just under 500 lots on offer and includes large consignments from Godolphin and Shadwell. This sale is a good sale for finding a filly out of training to breed from or a mare in-foal who will foaling within the next 3 months.
The Goffs February sale is held near Naas in Ireland between Tuesday 7th February and Thursday 9th February. The 3-day catalogue consists of 750 lots made up of yearlings, 2-year-olds, horses-in-training and breeding stock. This is a good sale for finding a flat yearling to race in 2018 or to offer for re-sale (i.e. pinhook) later this year – there is also a number of national hunt yearlings on offer. Like Tattersalls this sale is another good sale for finding a filly or mare to breed from and includes a large consignment from Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum’s Godolphin operation.
