High-class Arqana Yearling purchase Pablo Escobarr added to his progressive profile when finishing 2nd in the 12f Listed handicap at Meydan on 2nd January off a rating of 107. The son of Galileo won the Wild Flower Stakes L.R. on his previous start and was making his first journey abroad to race for owner Mr Hussain Lootah and trainer William Haggas. Jockey Tom Marquand also made the journey to Dubai and Pablo Escobarr looked the winner in the home straight having gone clear of his rivals but was run down by the David Simcock trained Universal Order who was carrying 11 pounds less in weight. It was a fantastic ‘career best’ run from Pablo Escobarr and he will return to Dubai for the City Of Gold Group 2 on Saturday 7th March – ‘Super Saturday’.
