Goffs Yearling purchase Roberto Escobarr proved too strong for his rivals when winning the Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Grand Cup on Saturday 12th June at York racecourse. The son of Galileo was making just his 5th racecourse appearance but stayed on strongly to beat previous Group 2 winner Red Verdon and the highly consistent mare Makawee over the 1m 6f distance. As the race title suggests, the winner gains an automatic berth into the Sky Bet Ebor handicap and this will certainly be considered for Roberto Escobarr as will Group races in excess of the 14f distance. Roberto Escobarr is a lightly raced horse with a big future ahead of him.
Congratulations to his owner Hussain Alabbas Lootah, trainer William Haggas and jockey Tom Marquand.
