After a cracking Glorious Goodwood for John & Sean Quinn it was great to see them also pitch in with a cheeky Chester double on Sunday 6th August. One of those winners was the old boy Safe Voyage who turned the clock back to win a class 3 off a rating of 95. Safe Voyage who I purchased for £52,000 as a yearling from the Goffs UK Premier sale has been a bit of a legend over the years winning multiple Group races and placed at Group 1 level. The son of Fast Company was at one time rated 116 so it was fantastic to see him still have the enthusiasm and class to win a class 3 off 95 – a very respectable effort for any horse let alone a 10 year old.
Congratulations to his trainers John and Sean Quinn and to owner Ross Harmon and jockey Jason Hart.
