With my trip to Dubai and Bahrain behind me I was soon back to Heathrow and making the trip to Hong Kong where I had been invited by HKJC to talk to its Racing Club members on UK horseracing and purchasing.
The forum was hosted by ex-Channel 4 racing presenter Graham Cunningham, lasted 90 minutes and was in front of 75 members. Graham and I discussed many different topics including UK racing festivals, leading owners & trainers, training techniques, differences between UK racing and HK racing, role of a bloodstock agent, my personal successes, yearling & breeze-up sales, purchasing horses-in-training from UK to race in Hong Kong, etc.
I am pleased to say that the forum went very well and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was lucky enough to be in Hong Kong for a Wednesday night Happy Valley race meeting which was great to see and for anyone who has not been or raced in Hong Kong then I would certainly add it to your to do list. Once again I was looked after so well during my stay and made to feel very welcome and I thank all those members of the HKJC for their time and hospitality.
